News from Angel (Tyrell) and husband Gene Furlipa -
"We wanted to share
some news with the Mahwah High School community. Our daughter, Julia,
recently released a book about plant-based nutrition and lifestyles.
Additionally, our daughter, Laura's boyfriend, had released a book in
2022 about his battle with cancer.
Below are some photos and brief
descriptions of each book.
"Julia
is a plant-based athlete, a middle school critical literacy teacher, a
nutritionist for a pro NBA player, and a successful business owner.
"In
a tailored coaching guide, Julia explores the relationship between pH
levels, weight loss, diseases, and specific cancers, offering
plant-based nutrition as a solution. Julia guides readers through seven
pivotal steps to transform their lifestyles. Starting with identifying
one’s core motivation (WHY), evaluating behaviors and habits, and
delving into the positive effects of nutrition on health, she emphasizes
the importance of hydration, sleep, and physical activity.
With her
signature blend of humor, insight, and encouragement, Julia aims to
uplift readers, enriching their taste buds, vitality, and spirit."

Laura Furlipa and Anthony Daniels
Anthony
Daniels is an author, athlete, speaker, and global humanitarian who
speaks openly about his 13-year battle with cancer. Anthony has been
featured in People Magazine and on Good Morning America alongside actor
Bradley Cooper, and his story has inspired thousands around the world.
Anthony’s mission is to encourage others to fight, instead of giving up.
He has been through years of cancer treatment; battling Hodgkin’s
Lymphoma six times as well as in his brain, hip, and spine. Anthony has
endured close to a thousand hours of chemotherapy, over 100 units of
radiation, numerous trials, and two stem-cell transplants. Anthony
currently resides in Ridgewood, NJ.*****
Sheila Laming Hodges shares these lovely photos of her grandchildren.
She says, "I just love being a Grammy. It’s such a Blessing."

Robin Dexter-Meyer is happy to share the following from an enjoyable day with Irene Bader Calotta and Karen Beley-Feder :
"Irene, Karen and I went to tour Duke Farms (the old Doris Duke estate is now a nature preserve) this summer to celebrate Irene's 65th birthday. I thought this was a nice picture of Irene in the greenhouse."

A Blast From The Past~A blast from the past....Model UN Cathy Swickle Johnson shares with us: "Maybe one if the other classmates recalls which year it was. I was in the group for jr and sr year but don’t remember when we stayed there. The general assembly was held at Monmouth University.
"The year: 1975 or 1976 - Model UN - and every time I see this place in Asbury, it’s like stepping back in time. Went inside on Friday for the 1st time since the 70s and, while the outside is identical to back then, the inside has gone through some cool changes and has some interesting history. The “concierge“ and I had a great convo and she was so sweet and welcoming and friendly. Truly neat to hear the journey this building has taken since it was built in 1959."

From Linda Swickle Everett - "I'm going to be teaching a small quilting workshop in April and I made a
sample quilted tote bag for the class.
I also made a crescent bag and a
couple of fabric collage zipper pouches.
The collages were so fun to
make.
It's a great way to utilize the tiniest fabric scraps
and bits of selvedge."
