October 2022 Edition

 

Hello Everyone,  Here is the latest edition of the class blog for your reading enjoyment.

A big thank you to everyone who submitted news and photos! Without your input there would be no blog!

I apologize in advance for the way blogger formats the posts! I have been wrestling with it again.

On July 11th the annual John F. Carty Scholarship Golf Outing was held, this year at the New York Country Club in West Hempstead, NY. A total of 132 golfers participated including six from our class. Pictured above are Jeff Reisel, Jim Bush, Lynn Savino, John Dolan and John Baker. (Missing from photo is Mike Grattini.)

Joe Fagan has sent us some photos - 

Here is Shane Fagan, USNA Class of 2022 preparing for his graduation.

At the garden party celebration the Fagans along with the Alfaros  (Godparents on the left) enjoy socializing with the new grad. Also in photo are Jack, Shane, Ann, Joe and Colleen Fagan and an officer.

Debbi Karpowich shares the following:

"For the blog, I thought I would submit two photos from this summer's trip to Germany. My husband Brian and I spent ten days visiting 8 countries with our son, Kyle, as our tour guide. In between two jaunts through Europe, we were able to see Kyle promoted to Captain at Ramstein Air Force Base, where he has been stationed since last fall. We are so proud of our son! I even got to "punch" his captain bars on his chest!  Kyle’s sister, Melissa, just got back from her own visit to Germany. Included is a photo of them at one of the German castles they saw on her trip. 

"Recently I heard the saying, "You're as happy as your least happy child."  It is safe to say that Brian and I are very blessed and very happy! "

News from classmate Lynn Wandelmaier-  

"We had a really busy summer. 

Our daughter Jamie got married May 21 in Hoboken NJ in an early heat wave."

Lynn continues - 

"In July we traveled to Italy, in another heat wave, to our nephew Jack's wedding in Trieste. 

We also visited Venice with our daughter Lauren, her husband Chris, and our granddaughter Hailey.

Hailey will be one on November 5 and we will see her again

 in December when they come to NJ for Christmas."

Birthday celebration news~ 

In May, Patty Menz celebrated her birthday at the Tin Barn in Sugar Loaf, NY with some classmates!

Cathy Lehmann shares some happy news, too. 

Our son Kevin graduated from Boston University in May with a BA in Physics, summa cum laude with honors.  He was also awarded the College Prize for Excellence in Physics, and inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.   He’s now working at a start-up in Columbus, OH called ResCon Technologies as their Machine Learning Algorithm Developer.

In June Patty Mech came to town so she, Lynn Savino and Susie Bernhart

 got together at the Mason Jar in Mahwah for a girls' night out!

Diane Jessop's sister and brother-in-law Cathy and Fred traveled to Michigan in August and came upon Pal's Diner.  It is now like a small museum.  For those of you who weren't aware that Pal's had been moved, here are some pictures of it now.

Mike Dooley sends news of the engagement of

 son Michael and his sweetheart Lauren.

Mike Grattini's birthday was celebrated on September 10th at 

Billy Joe's Ribworks

 in Newburgh, NY.

(You can send to me before that, I will save whatever you send and post it in March. Please be sure to let me know it is for the blog as sometimes people just send me pictures and such so that I can see but not to share.)
